Category packs

Eight Packs, Eight Kinds of Deep Water

The daily dive shuffles all eight categories together. Packs separate them: seven prompts from a single water, endless reshuffles, records kept per pack. This is where backwards thinking is trained β€” one category's crowd at a time, until you know exactly where it stops.

How to train with packs

A week of daily results will tell you your shape: most divers have one category that keeps surfacing them (usually the one they know best in real life β€” expertise strengthens first instincts, and first instincts are Plankton) and one where they accidentally shine. Packs fix the first and sharpen the second. Pick your weakest water and dive it ten times in Unlimited-style play; read its example ladders on the pack page; then watch your next daily. The strategy guide calls this deliberate practice, and it is the difference between divers who plateau at Glass Reef and divers who live in Mirror Deep.
